This release of the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) Silver Maple Leaf series is crafted with an Ultra High Relief strike, representing a first for the popular series which has been annually issued since 1988. The 2022 dated coin, which is minted with a gorgeous reverse proof finish, features the celebrated Maple Leaf design at a height of 1.4 mm, approximately five times the height of its standard bullion issue counterpart. The world renowned graphic for the series was created by Walter Ott for the Gold Maple Leaf coin in 1979. Susan Taylor, a retired RCM Senior Engraver and former apprentice to Mr. Ott, re-imagined the classic Maple Leaf design into an exquisitely sculptural Ultra High Relief numismatic masterpiece. This 2022 Silver Maple Leaf coin is crafted from 1 Troy oz. The coin features a dramatic Ultra High Relief strike.
The coin's classic imagery is highlighted by an exquisite reverse proof finish. The perfectly struck coin is an authenticated First Day of Issue release. The coin includes a ModernCoinMart exclusive designer signed certification label.
Mintage of this numismatic treasure is limited to just 7,000 coins. Obverse: The obverse is graced with a right facing image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Inscriptions include "ELIZABETH II, " "20 DOLLARS" and 2022. This distinctive royal effigy has appeared on Canada's coinage since 2003, and is a superb example of the work of acclaimed Canadian portrait artist Susanna Blunt. Reverse: Centered on the reverse is the iconic sugar maple leaf graphic in Ultra High Relief. "CANADA" is inscribed above, with "FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR" curving below, and the coin's purity of "9999" flanking the magnificently sculptural leaf. This 2022 Canada 1 oz. Featuring a perfectly executed strike, flawless surfaces and spectacular eye appeal, the coin was awarded the superior grade of Proof 70.The stunning reverse proof coin is encapsulated in a sonically sealed NGC protective holder with a Canadian flag style certification label which has been hand signed by sculptor Susan Taylor. The graded coin will be packaged in a black pouch that is branded with a red Maple Leaf graphic, a numbered Mint issued Certificate of Authenticity.
