First-Ever Maple Leaf Struck at the Winnipeg Mint Plus a Satiny Burnished Finish. Ever since its introduction to the world bullion market in 1979, the Maple Leaf series has only been struck at the Ottawa branch of the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM). That changes in 2019 with the release of the first-ever Maple Leaf struck at the Winnipeg branch of the Mint and thus bearing its "W" Mint mark.
In addition, the Maple will boast a satiny burnished finish reminiscent of the United States Mints Burnished American Eagle Series which also bears a "W" Mint mark as they are struck at the West Point Branch Mint. 9999 fine silver, this historic release will have a low mintage of just 10,000 pieces. The obverse centers on Susana Blunt's effigy of Queen Elizabeth II which has appeared on Canadian coinage since 2003.
The Queen wears a necklace and earrings in this portrayal.
